Café open for business to mark Dementia Awareness Week

Birch Green Care Home’s Dementia Café will open its doors once again on May 17, during Dementia Awareness Week.

The café is a sociable get-together allowing those affected by dementia – a person living with dementia, carer, family member, friend or someone facing dementia – to meet.

It aims to help offer support and information in a relaxed environment and is held every month.

This month’s café will coincide with Dementia Awareness Week, which runs from May 14-20. This national event is organised by the Alzheimer’s Society and raises awareness of dementia on a national level.

The café runs from 11-12.30pm at Birch Green Care Home, Ivydale, Skelmersdale. For more information call the home on 01695 50916.
