At Birch Green we are proud of our links with the community, and recently took part in the launch of a new Monthly Community Activity Hub.
The event, held at the Civic Hall in Ormskirk, was organised by the Athena Healthcare Group, and launched a series of new monthly events to help older people engage with likeminded individuals in the area through meaningful activities.
Birch Green’s staff attended to meet other care professionals and showcase the work the home does. They met with representatives from Age Concern, a dementia support group, representatives of other homes and even the Lady Mayoress.
Visitors to Birch Green’s area were particularly touched by the Valentine’s Day display which included residents’ happy memories.
The day also included a talk by Everton in the Community representative Henry Mooney, who spoke to welcome everyone and wishing them good luck in the future with the Hub.
A local singer known as John Macca, a tribute act to Paul McCartney stopped by to entertain everyone, and a performance from the Skelmersdale Community Singers rounded the event off nicely..
