There is cause for celebration at Birch Green this week as the results of the national Your Care Rating survey have been published, showing high levels of satisfaction from our residents.
We scored an overall performance rating (OPR) score of 858 out of 1000, and achieved a 100 per cent rating of overall satisfaction.
Areas of 100 per cent satisfaction relating to the living conditions at Birch Green included: privacy, feeling safe and secure, variety of choice in food, easy access to outdoor spaces, activities and independence at bedtime.
Complete satisfaction was also recorded where our staff are concerned, including sensitivity towards feelings, being treated with kindness and dignity, good access to doctors and dentists and being happy with the care and support received.
Carol Nickeas, general manager at Birch Green Care Home said: “We are happy to hear that our residents are satisfied with the care and services they receive here. This reflects our key purpose that people are at the centre of everything we do, and listening to and identifying what is important to our residents means we can continue delivering high standards of care.”
Now in its third year, the Your Care Rating survey is the country’s largest and most authoritative survey of care home residents. The nationwide survey gives residents a voice, putting their care at the heart of understanding more about how well care homes perform.
More than 21,000 residents in 1,034 care homes across the UK took part. Each care home was given an overall score based on resident feedback across four broad themes; Staff and Care, Home Comforts, Choice and Having a Say, and Quality of Life.
All of this year’s results for every care home surveyed are displayed on the Your Care Rating website www.yourcarerating.org.
